On March 29, we held a forest opening ceremony at “Woody Minami no Mori” located in Minami, Ichijima-cho, Tamba City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Starting last fiscal year, we decided to expand our activities at “Woody Minami no Mori” from conventional volunteer work to utilizing the forest as a place for employees to learn about nature and ecosystems through training programs.
On the day of the event, approximately 30 participants gathered, including representatives of the Minami Residents’ Association, the owner of the forest, the SEF Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, Woods Co., Ltd., which aims for sustainable forestry, as well as our directors and audit & supervisory board members. We exchanged views and shared perspectives on the future direction of our collaborative activities.
In addition, we installed a new signboard to widely communicate the initiatives at “Woody Minami no Mori,” conducted fieldwork within the forest, and concluded a new agreement.
Going forward, we will continue to utilize “Woody Minami no Mori” in our response to TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) and to foster awareness through employee training. Together with our partner companies and organizations, we will co-create new value in forests and communicate that value to society.
