On October 28, 2025, we made our fourth annual donation to the Oriental White Stork Fund in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Since fiscal year 2021, we have been developing overseas sales channels for “Stork Natural Rice,” and this marks the fourth year of our efforts. Rice shortages remain a serious issue across Japan, and this year was a challenging one for our company as well. Nevertheless, demand for stork-friendly rice from overseas has been strong, and we have focused our shipping efforts primarily to Switzerland.
“Stork Natural Rice” is cultivated using farming methods that do not rely on agricultural chemicals, as part of building a community where both people and storks can live happily. In 1971, Toyooka City in Hyogo Prefecture became the last place where wild storks disappeared from Japan’s skies. The commitment to return storks to the sky changed the city’s policies, shifted public sentiment, and, we believe, inspired widespread empathy.
We deeply resonate with the philosophy of the “Stork-Nurturing Farming Method” promoted by Toyooka City. Through our export business for overseas markets, we aim to co-create with producers who support Japanese food culture and continue bringing the delicious tastes of Japan to the world.
