Conducted Fieldwork Training for Konan University STAGE Students

We conducted fieldwork training for 24 first-year students from Konan University’s Faculty of Global Liberal Arts at the Kobe factory of Allied Coffee Roasters Co., Ltd., our consolidated subsidiary. Through the lecture on social issues in the coffee industry, including an introduction to our company, factory tour, Q&A session, and workshop delving deeper into social challenges, students engaged in lively discussions and posed incisive questions.

This training program aims to share environmental challenges and their solutions with our world partner companies and stakeholders, based on the “Promotion of Environmental Education” principle within the Ishimitsu Group Sustainability Policy, thereby fostering human resource development and cultivating awareness.

By introducing our initiatives through the company presentation and factory tour, we received feedback that the factory visit was particularly interesting, along with many questions regarding Green Roasting.

We set a highly challenging theme from the perspective of how companies can solve social issues and provided opportunities for group work. Through in-depth exploration of social issues, the program helped students develop the thinking skills necessary to identify and solve complex problems themselves.

Connecting university students with companies to discuss social issues has been a learning experience for the students, while also providing significant insights and learning for us employees.

We plan to strengthen our collaboration with Konan University to further advance environmental education, improve the content of fieldwork, and create opportunities for mutual learning.
