Coffee Workshop at Nada Sakura Special Needs School

On Wednesday, October 15, we held a coffee workshop at Nada Sakura Special Needs School. This time, three second-year junior high school students from the physical disabilities division participated as part of a local community learning “Try-Yaru” activities. Together with the students, we carried out the entire process, from roasting the coffee beans in a frying pan to grinding them and brewing the coffee.

There was also a time when the students played the role of café staff and served the brewed coffee to us, and at the end everyone enjoyed tasting the coffee they had roasted themselves. Although the students were nervous at first, their smiles grew as they experienced the crackling sounds and aromas of the beans in the frying pan, watched the beans transform into grounds, and smelled the aroma of the brewed coffee. Some students even asked for seconds, and seeing them enjoy coffee through all five senses made us happy too.

Through this initiative, we once again felt how the experience of coffee roasting and a single cup of coffee can create a warm atmosphere and bring out smiles.
We will continue to hold coffee experience workshops like this and pursue initiatives that bring smiles to even more people.
